Mistakes mean your trying!

I know I haven't posted in years, and it is very disappointing to myself. I hope to get this up and running again. It's time for a transformation and I am not letting it slip this time. I took some before pictures last week and tomorrow hopefully I can find a scale on this large campus to weigh myself. My ultimate goal weight would be about 113-115! So let's get this baby started!!!

Wear it right, get it tight!

Hiii:)), and Happy April 27!!! When I was getting ready for the gym the other day, a thought crossed my mind "why am I wasting time to look half way decent when I am just going to sweat anyways?" It's a good question and I am sure many people always ask that question, but I do have a reason. Everyone knows what it is like to have a day where you just do not feel like going to the gym or go outside to run or walk, and when those days come it is extremely hard to get up and get going. I realized that when I think I look good before the gym it gives me a little boost of energy to look and feel even better about myself by going to workout. Now, when I say look good I don't mean jewelry and lots of make up, I mean look like your determined, confident, and are proud of your body and the improvements it has been making. It doesn't hurt to treat yourself to a new exercise top or bottoms. Trust me if you go into the gym with a smile you are a lot more likely to push yourself hard and come out with a smile :)

Sorry I haven't been writing much, I have been busy with studying for finals next week and I am just getting over being sick :( I just want everyone to remember even when it seems like there is no time to even breathe, you must still make smart choices. Take time in the morning or when you have a little breather in the day to do a quick little work out. Just do something to get your heart rate up, and break a little sweat. One thing to remember though is that if you start to get run down like being sick take a little break from working out. You never want to push your body too far, especially not to the point where it cannot recover. You have to listen to your body. Maybe take the down time to do some research about new exercises or food, and to create more goals. That way you are still motivated to make the right choices when it comes to eating. During my sick days I realized one day I would LOVE to participate in the Warrior Dash race and maybe one day run a half marathon. I know both those goals are reachable. I need to do a little more research so I can prepare for the half marathon correctly. Always set new goals and never stop pushing to be fun, fit, and fabulous!

P.S. If anyone is interested in a fun 5k that will push many, many muscles in your body while have lots of fun. Check out the link below and maybe sing up for one of the races!

Who loves sugar?! Everybody better be saying "I do". Cutting back on sugar has and still is one of my biggest challenges. Until the this morning, I found an awesome picture/idea. Sugar is addicting and it is unrealistic to completely cut it out of your diet. The trick is to limit the intake of sugar and make better choices. Like the picture below, make the sugar from candies and chocolates a small treat each day. You can also get sugar known a fructose from fruits such as apples, and strawberries. And I believe the pill container idea is a great creation and maybe one extra boost can be to put in a little pick me up quote or saying to remind yourself how great you are and how great you can be. Just remember to keep sugar limited and make it a special treat.

Easter!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! Easter and most holidays mean lots of food, the trick is portion control. Make sure to not over eat. You can eat what you would like but just remember to keep the portions smaller and work really hard all week! After that, remember the new week means back to the normal and get right back into making smart choices! If you enjoy and make smart choices when it comes to holidays, you'll have no problems becoming fun, fit, and fabulous!

Hungry?

Today, after running and lifting weights I have been very hungry. I am really starting to kick my eating into gear. And as you begin to do the same, you will notice hunger is almost an all day feeling. The trick is to eat the right foods that will fill you up, like chicken and for a snack nuts. Protein really helps to fill you up. One more tip is to drink lots of water and chew gum. When the hunger gets hard remember why you're doing this in the first place. The first couple of days are the hardest, but that's because your stomach needs to shrink. Don't give up, things will get better :) Happy Smart Eating!!
